Help your coach help you
Working with a coach isn’t just about doing another workout.
It’s about showing up well, so your coach can guide you toward the results you want.
Here’s how to get the most out of the relationship:
Be honest (even if it feels awkward)
Skipped your workouts?
Struggling with food?
Feel like crap this week?
Say it.
Your coach can only work with the truth. If you’re not honest, you’re blocking progress.
Share your work
Most of your training happens without your coach right there.
That means:
- Send videos of your lifts
- Track your food (or at least write down what’s really going on)
- Leave notes about how things felt
You’re not doing this for your coach.
You’re doing it to back yourself.
Ask questions
Don’t nod along if you don’t understand something.
Ask why. Ask how. Ask what else might help.
And if your motivation’s tanked?
Say that too.
A good coach won’t judge—they’ll coach.
Don’t perform—communicate
You don’t need to impress your coach.
We’re not here for perfect. We’re here for progress.
If things feel messy or inconsistent, cool.
Let’s fix it together.
Bottom line:
You hired a coach for support.
Use them.
Results come from more than just sets and reps.
They come from clear, honest communication.
